VOLUNTEER

Okotoks BMX Club is a 100% volunteer run organization that promotes an active and healthy lifestyle through BMX racing. Our club welcomes riders of all ages, from 4 to 94 years old, who are interested in learning and competing in BMX races. Our mission is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for riders to develop their skills, make friends, and have fun!

Volunteering

Our club could not exist year after year without relying on the support of our members. There are no paid positions or hired personnel at Okotoks BMX. Every aspect of the track maintenance and the successful execution of our racing events are 100% organized and managed through the volunteer efforts of our Board of Directors and the Members of the club.

The contributions of our volunteers and participants are essential in maintaining our BMX community and keeping things running smoothly throughout the season.

Each family must complete a minimum of 30 volunteer hours over the duration of the season.

If you sign up before May 18, your 30 hours must include:

  • One (1) 6-hour Work Bee shift

  • One (1) casino shift on May 17 & 18, 2025 at the Ace Casino on Blackfoot Trail

If you sign up on or after May 19, your 30 hours must include:

  • One (1) 6-hour Work Bee shift

  • One (1) special event shift (such as AB BMX Day, Friday Night Lights, Year-End Party & Awards, etc.)

All members are asked to submit a postdated (September 30, 2025) volunteer cheque of $400 on your first track visit. If you do not have any cheques, you can complete a promise to pay with a credit card form authorizing us to collect $400 from the credit card on September 30, 2025.

If you do not fulfill your volunteer requirements by that date, your postdated cheque will be cashed or your credit card on file will be charged.

If you choose to opt out of volunteer requirements, you will be required to pay the $400 by your first track visit.

You will need to download Team Ramp, which will serve as our volunteer sign up program this season. Please keep track of your hours and if you have any questions or concerns about fulfilling your requirements, please email our Volunteer Coordinator volunteer@okotoksbmx.com

Did you know…
Volunteer shifts that remain unfilled do not simply disappear; they must be covered to ensure the successful running of events. In such cases these responsibilities fall to a board member, or families who may have already completed their hours. Every volunteer hour is invaluable and contributes tremendously to the smooth running of our events. Your support makes all the difference.
